About

HSIUNG is an art practice, queer creative collective and cultural platform exploring sexuality, identity and LGBTQ+ culture through jewellery, image, performance and other forms of making. Born from the founder’s experience of growing up in East Asia, where desire is often subdued and identity left unspoken, HSIUNG transforms the unspoken into form, and repression into expression. For us, jewellery is more than ornament. It is an imprint of identity, a frozen echo of exhilaration, and a manifestation of subconscious longing.

Through sculptural curves and striking silhouettes, HSIUNG reconfigures explicit sexual symbols into objects of beauty, intrigue and recognition. In an East Asian context, it reimagines the contemporary hanky code as a silent yet potent language where those within the community recognise, while outsiders remain unaware.

Beyond its own objects, HSIUNG also works as a platform to support queer artists, image-makers and performers through exhibitions, collaborations, publications and selected works. It aims to build a space where queer expression can be seen, circulated, collected and materially supported.

Artist & Practitioner

Bobby Zhaocheng Xiong is a London-based independent artist and creative whose work explores the intricate intersections of humanity, xuanxue(occult), technology, and artificial intelligence. While his artistic practice has long engaged with the speculative implications of technology on human and society, his identity as a queer creator, alongside a deep fascination with fashion and sexology, has led him to expand into the realm of wearable art.

For Bobby, jewellery is more than adornment - it is a narrative vessel, a sculptural imprint of cultural reflection. His artistic background informs a distinctive approach to jewellery-making, where each piece is not merely an object, but a fragment of a larger scene, a moment frozen in time, carrying layers of meaning and discourse.

Through his work, Bobby challenges conventions, blurring the boundaries between art, identity, and materiality, crafting pieces that are both intimate and provocative, wearable yet conceptual.

Material & Substantial

While HSIUNG operates as an artistic practice, our jewellery remains inherently wearable, durable, and valuable. Each piece is meticulously handcrafted and produced in the UK, ensuring both quality and craftsmanship.

We are committed to responsible material sourcing and sustainable production. Where possible, we utilise recycled silver to minimise environmental impact. In cases where recycled materials are not viable, we adopt production methods that reduce the consumption of natural resources, aligning with our dedication to ethical and conscious design.
